Mike came to CBT in January 1999 with his wife Rachel after being pastor of the Stanley Heights Baptist Church in East Ridge, TN for eight years. Pastor Frazier has served as the First Vice-President of Missions for the Baptist Bible Fellowship International and also as the Representative for Korea. The Fraziers have three children, Lauren, Justin, and Connor. You typically can find Mike at one of Connor’s baseball games or enjoying some ice cream. He loves his ice cream.
Trent was born and raised in Navarre, Ohio. His family joined CBT in 2001, and in 2005 he was a counselor at Camp CHOF. The ministry of Camp CHOF and the working of the Lord was the catalyst that placed Trent where he is today. He was baptized at CBT, and then in 2013 surrendered for full-time ministry. With a background in education and working with youth, Trent is passionate about people and reaching them with the Gospel of Christ. Trent is also the Middle School Director where he is faithfully assisted by his wife, Tristyn, and a team of Middle School Adult Leaders. Trent and Tristyn have two children, Josephine and Zane.
Mike was born and raised in Kissimmee, Florida. After retiring in June 2013, he and his family relocated to Canton, Ohio and joined Canton Baptist Temple in January 2014. Mike and his wife Kelli have two children, Peyton and Ethan. In addition to spending time with his family, Mike enjoys watching Perry Panther football, working outside, doing stained glass, and eating lots of ice cream.
Steve grew up in Norway House, Manitoba, Canada where his parents are missionaries to the Cree people. Steve joined the staff of Canton Baptist Temple in August of 2007. With his wife Heather beside him, he serves as the Communications Director and loves what he gets to do for the cause of Christ. Steve also leads one of the Young Adult ABF’s. Check out the class on social media using #cantonbaptistya1. Steve and Heather have 3 awesome children – Hudson, Kinlee and Sawyer. Steve is a huge Buckeyes fan – especially Ohio State football and basketball and is trying to make sure he raises 3 more buckeyes fans.
Rachel grew up in Columbia, SC as the daughter of Pastor and Mrs. Clayton Shumpert. While in college she met her husband and our pastor, Mike. They have been married for 27 years and have three children – Lauren, Justin, and Connor. Rachel has worked with kids in various capacities throughout the years – teaching music, AWANA, VBS and Sunday School – just to mention a few. You do not have to talk with Rachel very long to know that she absolutely loves children, reading, baking and spending time with her family.
Although Bob just recently joined the CBT staff, he has been involved in ministry most of his life. His first ministry experience came while living with his parents who were missionaries in Guatemala. He was an assistant pastor in Nebraska and Ohio, and for over 10 years was the pastor of a church in Ohio. In 2006 he went as a missionary to the Republic of Ireland where he was able to begin a work in Mallow, County, Cork that is thriving today. Bob has three daughters Trisha (Brad), Tara (Chad) and Tiffani (Dom) and two grandsons David and Liam.
Zach has grown up in Hartville, Ohio. At the age of 13, he picked up his first guitar, and fell in love with playing music. On top of playing guitar, he also loves welding, remodeling, rock climbing, and backpacking. He rededicated his life to Christ when he was 15 years old and got involved at his church (Grace Baptist Church) leading a youth band. He, with his wife Sarah, love pointing teenagers to Christ.
Eric was raised in a Pastor’s home in Dallas, TX, and yes, he is still a Cowboy’s fan. He went to Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO where he met his wife Julia, who was also raised in a Pastor’s home. Eric and Julia have four beautiful, very active, boys that keep them busy. Eric has been involved in the Music Ministry his entire life but he really began to feel the call after he became the Song Leader of his church at age 16. He is passionate about the Music Ministry and loves the Worship Choir.
Robert was born in the small southwest Virginia town of Grundy. At age 6 his family moved to the Richmond, Virginia area where he spent the next 34 years. In 2001 his employer relocated he and his family to Dover, Ohio where they currently reside. He joined the staff here at CBT in September of 2010 as Director of Operations. His goal is to manage the activities of the day-to-day operations in order to allow the pastoral staff to focus on the ministries of the church. Robert was saved and baptized at age 16. He is married to Sheila and they have three children, Katie, Nikki, and Jesse.
Originally from St. Petersburg, FL, Ben joined the CBT staff in June of 2014. Ben oversees the Outreach and Adult Bible Fellowship Ministry here at CBT. He leads the Saturday Night ABF as well as The Turning Point College Ministry. Ben enjoys spending time with his family, music, and sports. He is married to Megan Jennings and has two girls- Melana and Audrey and a new baby boy – Ezekiel.
Jake was raised in Canton, Ohio and joined the pastoral staff in 1998. Jake and his wife Susan have three grown children: Tristyn, Jessica and Taylor and are the proud grandparents of 4 grand kids. Jake teaches the Bridgebuilders Adult Bible Fellowship. His ministry consists of Discipleship, Counseling, Bible Studies, Grief and Divorce Support as well as other Pastoral Care Duties. Jake is a huge sports fan and loves to read and listen to classical music.
Floyd comes to the CBT team with over 40 years of ministry experience. He grew up in Canton and began attending CBT when he was 5 or 6 years old. He attended Timken Vocational High School where he met the love of his life, Marsha, and after graduation they were married in CBT in 1968. It was during family camp in 1970 at Camp CHOF that they surrendered their lives to serve the Lord. Together they served as missionaries in Belize for more than ten years. Upon returning from Belize Floyd accepted the pastorate of the Liberty Baptist Church in Bristol, CT. In the summer of 2016 they returned to Canton, whereupon he was invited to join the staff as a part-time pastor.
